I enjoy tutoring because I find it gratifying to help someone reach "aha"! moments when struggling with a particular concept or subject. Helping a child (or adult) to understand something new that previously baffled them feels to me like a personal triumph. Learning, I believe, is a bit of a mystery in itself - I believe that every individual learns a bit differently; hence, every person has to be taught according to their learning style. Because I struggle with new concepts/ideas myself (as opposed to those gifted individuals who don't even break a sweat in school), I break down difficult problems into pieces & explain it to myself in the simplest terms I can. I think I am an effective tutor because of the fact that in order to learn, I essentially have to tutor myself, first, which makes it easier for me to explain it to others.
HobbiesEveryone learns a little differently; therefore, I believe that tutoring is especially valuable because we can hone in on the individual student's learning style. I enjoy finding new ways to explain/teach subjects to a particular individual.
I am very interested in animals and animal-related fields. I like human-animals, too & especially enjoy the company of children.
