I will be a Junior at Kansas State University in the Fall of 2010. I am majoring in Family Studies and Human Services with a double major in International Studies. My GPA is 3.9. I am 20 years old. I am currently living in Lenexa, KS for the summer but will be moving back to Manhattan in August.
Experience
I have one year of official tutoring experience. I tutored a girl in 5th grade. I was hired to help her with her math skills but I also worked with her on all her other homework. I would have kept tutoring her but I left to go to college. I scored a 29 overall on the ACT, but I scored a 35 on the math section. I took the AP Calculus test my senior year of high school and scored a 5, which is the best you can score. I scored a 4 on the Psychology AP test. I love children and I love helping them out! I love math and solving problems. I also love social sciences. It is exciting when a child that previously struggled with something comes to understand it with just a little help! I have taken many AP, honor and college level classes while in high school: Calculus, Pre-Calculus, English, Psychology, History, Algebra and Algebra II, French. I have also taken many children focused classes while attending KSU; such as Child Development, Human Needs, Family Relationships. I also have at least 6 years of experience with babysitting and nannying. This summer, I am working at a fitness gym as a camp counselor for children ages 6-12.
